Course Overview:
This unit of competency deals with the provision of advanced first aid resuscitation techniques, life-support and management of casualty/s until the arrival of medical or other assistance and provision of support to other providers.
Prerequisites:
Students must be over 16 years of age.
Students must have a current certificate at the time of enrolment in one of the following competency units:
HLTCPR201A Perform CPR HLTFA201A Provide Basic Emergency Life Support HLTFA201B Apply First Aid

Assessment Criteria:
Throughout the course participants must demonstrate ongoing competency during a seriesof practical skills evaluation and written assessment.
Requirements for Completion:
100% attendance and participation
Award Issued:
On successful completion of the course, the participant will receive a Statement of Attainment, which is valid for 3 years. This course complies to policy advice by the Australian Resuscitation Council. As per the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines the HLTCPR201A Perform CPR unit is recomended to be completed every 12 months. This course is nationally recognised through inclusion on the National Training Information Service (NTIS). It is WorkCover approved in every state.
